If you have looked at our lineup and wondered why the same light comes three different ways, this is the page for you.
The light pod is the same. What changes is where it gets power and how it mounts. That is the whole decision, and it comes down to three questions: do you mind drilling, do you mind wiring, and do you mind buying batteries.
The short version
- Wired — permanent, never think about it again. Drill one hole, tap existing power.
- Battery (8x AA) — no wiring at all. Drill one hole, swap batteries when they die.
- Rechargeable V2 — no wiring, no drilling. Four bolts to the swing arm, charge it like a phone.
Wired (Y-split harness)

This is our original design and still the most popular. The harness branches off your existing headlight connector — think of a splitter on a garden hose. The light draws what it needs and everything else on the bike carries on untouched.
What people worry about: that wiring in a light means cutting into the loom. It does not. Nothing gets cut, spliced or disabled. Your dash still works, your controls still work, your stock functions are exactly as they were. If you ever remove the light, you unplug it and the bike is back to standard.
The install: drill one hole in your bash guard, route the harness, plug it in. Most riders are done in under 30 minutes.
Choose this if: you ride often, you want the light there every time you turn the key, and you never want to think about charge levels.
Battery powered (8x AA)

Same pod, same mounting position, but it runs entirely on its own power. The kit includes a battery pack that takes 8x AA batteries (not included). Nothing at all connects to the bike.
This is the version we build for the Tuttio, Yozma and RTR, and it is also how our Universal light works for bikes we do not make a specific fitment for.
The install: drill one hole in your bash guard, mount it, drop batteries in.
Choose this if: your bike is not one we make a wired harness for, or you would simply rather not touch the electrical system at all.
Rechargeable V2 (no drilling)

The V2 is the newest version and it solves the two things people hesitate over: no wiring, and no drilling.
Instead of the bash guard, it bolts to your swing arm on a 3D printed mount using four bolts. The battery is built in and rechargeable, so there are no AAs to buy and nothing to wire.
It is also fully reversible. Take the four bolts out and there is no trace it was ever there — no holes, no modifications. That matters more than people expect if you are on a leased bike or planning to sell.
Choose this if: you do not want to drill, you want it removable, or you want the simplest install we make.
Skip it if: you ride a bike we do not yet make a V2 mount for — currently it is the Sur-Ron LBX and Talaria X3 only.
So which one?
If you ride a Sur-Ron LBX or Talaria X3, you have all three options and the honest answer is: get the V2 if you want easy, get the wired one if you want permanent.
For every other bike, your options are narrower and the choice mostly makes itself. Check the fitment guide to see what we build for your bike.
One thing all three share
Every version works with the strobe controller kit, which adds flash patterns and lets you cycle modes from the bar without getting off the bike.
And every version uses the same handmade metal pod, built in Florida. The power source changes. The light does not.
