Talaria X3, XXX and X3 Pro: What's the Difference?

Light pod, wiring harness and battery pack included in the kit

If you have been shopping for Talaria parts and come away confused about whether you own an X3, an XXX or an X3 Pro, you are not alone. It is the single most common fitment question we get.

Here is the plain answer.

X3 and XXX are the same bike

The bike is officially the Talaria XXX. Riders started calling it the X3 because of the three X's in the name, and the nickname stuck so thoroughly that most people now use both interchangeably.

There is no separate model called the X3. If someone is selling you an "X3 part" and an "XXX part" as different things, they are the same part.

The Pro is a different trim of that same bike

The X3 Pro (or XXX Pro) is the higher-spec version of the same machine. Same frame, same basic layout — a different model of the same bike, not a different bike.

For lighting purposes, that matters less than you might think. Our wheelie light harness and mounting fit both.

So what fits my Talaria?

If you ride an XXX, an X3, or an X3 Pro, these all fit you:

You will see both names across our listings. That is deliberate — riders search for both, so we use both. It is the same bike either way.

What about the MX models?

Those are genuinely different bikes, and they need different parts.

That last one surprises people. The MX3 genuinely shares its connector layout with the Sur-Ron, which is why it is grouped there rather than with the other Talarias.

Quick reference

  • XXX = X3 — same bike, two names
  • X3 Pro — Pro trim of that bike, same parts fit
  • MX4 / MX5 — different bike, own harness
  • MX3 — different again, uses the Sur-Ron LBX harness
